How to relax yourself on a Sunday

Last week been's tough at work and we couldn't wait for the weekend. And when the weekend came, we didn't want it to last. *sigh* And before Monday comes, we wanted to relax ourselves before hitting back to work. How did we relax ourselves the day before the most hated (probably) day, Monday?

Right after our Sunday meeting, my friend and I check out this newly opened spa and salon within Phnom Penh's high street, Boeung Keng Kang.

We went to the spa first. The Kaya Spa KH building is divided into two. On the left including the second floor is the spa. Right section is the salon.

In front of the establishment is a broad parkway. A fountain wall will greet you in the entrance. Staffs are friendly, polite and accommodating. Their English communication skill is quite fair as well.

We availed for  the aromatherapy oil massage service which was originally 10$ but we only paid $7.5 each. There are more service like sauna, Jacuzzi,  face and body treatments, etc. We wanted the aromatherapy bath first but their heater wasn't working that time.

Of course, can't miss a selfie in the bathroom. I love their robe. It was like a Japanese kimono and I actually wanted to bring it home. *evil grin*

Khmer massage is different with the massage I am used to back home in the Philippines. I am not quite satisfied with the aromatherapy massage here. I felt like not all tensed muscles were touched and massaged. Maybe perhaps because the 1 hour service we paid for was adjusted to cover from head to toe. Unlike the massage center in my country, the 1 hour is only concentrated to the back part, which is my most stressed and tired body part. I wish they also use a more relaxing music like a piano instrumentals and instruct their masseurs to refrain from talking with each other. But, the staffs are very kind actually and did not complain nor mumble when I accidentally tipped the oil bottle thrice. I was clumsy.

Nevertheless, I like the ambiance of the place. It's still lacking some interior designs and accents but its forgivable because the establishment is still new. I am sure they will improve in time.

I will be coming back to the spa to try their aromatherapy bath. The photo in their leaflet is inviting! I want to try and experience that super goddess feeling-like of sleeping, bathing, and relaxing on scented warm water with floating flowers. See the pic above.

After the massage, we went down the salon to get our hair died. The Kaya Salon is in the same building and just beside the spa. And they're on 50% discount promo. Yay!

I wanted my hair colored red and my friend wanted  purple. So we just went ahead and had it done.

Three is to one! My hair is thick and long and it took three hairdressers to dry it. Haha. We were the last customers that night so they had to speed up the drying process so we could all go home ASAP.

I enjoyed the the beauty transformation at the salon. My hair got reformed and renewed with its new color. Although they didn't speak English much, the staffs were also friendly and took care of us well.

I will be back again to try the other services.
