I am a lover of Sleek Makeup products and you know that if you have been following my blog. Here's another good product from them. Their Sleek Makeup Creme to Powder makeup base is another must have in my kit. Find out why below.
Sleek Makeup is a UK based cosmetics brands. I purchased the Sleek Makeup Creme to Powder tester kits to know my shade from their range. Then when it came and I tried and tested it, I surely knew purchasing the Base Duo Kit won't be a regret.
The Tester Kits are very helpful in knowing your shade perfectly before spending on the the full size. The testers are available in 6 shade groups with 5 shades contained in each. They have a total of 30 shades from light to dark that can match each and every woman in the world! Fab! Each tester kit costs USD3.99 from their website: http://www.sleekmakeup.com. I got three kits and they are: Fair/light, Light, and light/medium kits.
The Base Duo Kit, on the other hand, contains the creme foundation and pressed powder. It's a great combo that's perfect for travel with double mirror. The site claims that the foundation and the pressed powder both have SPF 15 and moisturizing properties. The setting powder is an ultra fine setting powder that complements the shade of the base. This duo kit costs USD16.49. Basing from the tester kits, the closest shade to my skin tone is Fudge and its what I bought. I purchased these sets last year and I have been enjoying them as the photos above prove.
Here are the shades from the tester kits I have.
They are testers so expect them to be tiny. But although they are tiny, they do still last because of the high pigmentation and concentration.
Swatches of each kits. This is the FAIR/LIGHT kit: Linen, Oyster, Oatmeal, White Rose and Shell. I use these to serve as highlights and conceal dark under eye. Very effective.
The LIGHT kit: Barley, Sand, Calico, Bamboo and Fudge. This range is where my skin tone belongs. I used to use Fudge because its the closest to my color, however, I have also been using a lightening soap and my skin tone brighten a bit so I now mix Calico and Bamboo to perfectly match me.
The LIGHT/MEDIUM kit: latte, creme caramel, honeycomb, praline and sweet honey. This range contains the deeper shades for contouring my skin tone. They are 2-3 shades darker.
Here's the coverage result of the creme foundation. Notice the dark spots and blemishes on my naked skin. They disappeared and only a few are visible after the cream foundation. It also appears slightly dewy because of its moisturizing properties. And when set with the pressed powder, it turns matte.
Here's complete makeup look using Sleek Makeup Creme to Powder Duo Kit. No editing was done except brightness and the watermark.
WHAT DO I SAY
I love this creme foundation. It achieves the true purpose of a makeup base, to even out skin tone for a clean and smooth canvas. It is definitely medium to full coverage. It is also build-able to completely hide any spots and blemishes. The consistency is smooth and creamy and very easy to blend and buff into the skin resulting to a flawless skin. Also, it lasts the whole day! And all you have to do is retouch with the pressed powder that comes with it. I think this would be okay with people with sensitive skin as it doesn't have a strong scent, which is the most active ingredient that causes allergies and reactions.
I also like the fact that Sleek offers them in 30 shades! No woman would be left out because of her skin color. They skin also be mixed and blended with other shades to attain the exact skin tone. I appreciate Sleek offers them in tester kits, which is very practical. You can determine your shade and test the product first before splurging money on the full size. And if you have both the testers and the whole kit, the testers won't go to waste as you can use it to serve as concealers just liked what I do.
I will definitely repurchase this and perhaps get more shades for clients. I love the coverage, how build-able it is and easy to work with just what I need for my dear clients.
