As previously posted, I've been to The Face Shop recently and bought the latest in the cream craze, CC Cream. The Face Shop offers two kinds of CC Creams, the Aura CC Cream and the Smart Capsule CC Cream. I was so torn between the two as which of them should I pick. I tested both of them on my face each product on each side. I walked around the shop for a few minutes and then waited for them to set. And I eventually decided to take the Smart Capsule Color Control one. Read on below to see an overview of this product.

The Face It Smart Capsule Color Control Cream costs Php1595.00 and The Face Shop gives away a free glittery pouch for each purchase of any of the CC Cream.

This CC Cream variant is contained in a cylinder bottle and contains 30ml. I got the Number 2 Perfect Skin Tone Shade. According to the packaging, "Face It CC Cream is a color-controlling cream that brightens your complexion and keeps your morning makeup intact without darkening." Perhaps it means it doesn't oxidize and turns darker which happens if you've got acidic skin. It has SPF 40, PA++. Sorry I am not familiar what PA++ means, and if you happen to know, please comment it below.

On the back of the carton, it states that this Color Control Cream changes into a shade optimal to your skin tone as Smart Capsules in yellow, red, and black are blended together. (I was amazed by this. You'll see later below on what this means and how it happens. ) It also claims that this is a wrinkle care/whitening/sun screening triple functional cosmetic.
1. Smart Tone Technology helps find your optimal skin tone.
2. Skin Revitalizing Formula
3. Darkening-proof Formula

As usual, when you open the lid, it is sealed for costumer's protection ensuring that the product is totally brand new. Just peel off the sticker and you'll see a round rubbery thing in the center. Ignorantly, I was trying to peel it thinking it's another seal but its not. Around the circle thing will your product come out when you press the top rim. The cream is white with tiny tiny black and brown particles which will match and adjust to your skin tone when blended.

I like the scent of this which is mild and pleasing. It is like a mixture of citrus + green tea scents.  It gives a cooling sensation to the nose.

Swatches above shows the transitions of this white cream to your skin tone. The cream is white but when buffed into the skin, it slowly changes colors and matches your skin tone.

Here's how it shows on my face. (Photos are actual and no enhancements nor editing were done. Thus, shows the pimple spots, blemish marks and moles.) My skin tone is a golden medium with blemishes.

FIRST IMPRESSION
When I first heard that CC Creams are out, I wanted to own one and so I searched where to purchase it. Luckily, The Face Shop store in our area just recently opened as I have blogged about it here: http://stellajezebelle.blogspot.com/2013/06/the-face-shop.html. Although Etude House has the CC Cream first, I still opted for this brand. Php1595.00 for a 30ml CC Cream is expensive I know, while Etude House has theirs for Php700+ only. Twice the price. I wanted to try this brand so I opted for it.

As stated in my introduction, I tested both the Smart Capsule and the Aura Cream on my face. I actually already have BB Cream underneath when I applied the testers. My face looked really white with the double layers of cream. I walked around the shop while waiting for the creams to set.I actually liked the result. The Aura Cream has a thicker coverage and blended just right with my skin, yet with a little bit of caking, which I think because I already had BB Cream underneath. The Smart Capsule was lighter and had lesser caking.

The next day, with my well cleansed, exfoliated skin and moisturized skin, I applied the Smart Capsule CC Cream. I did not actually like the result upon application. It was super light coverage which I think neither my uneven skin tone or blemishes were somehow minimized. Also, it's leaves a white cast as if I have used a wrong shade of makeup base.

Then I set it with the Ben Nye Banana Powder. The loose powder made it look better. My face appeared a little bit smoother, skin tone got even a little bit and the white cast was minimized. People who have tried CC Creams say it gives a lesser dewy effect as compared to BB Creams. And yes, this is true. After the cream has set, I noticed that my skin didn't appear greasy nor oily the whole day.

I will continue using this product and see the result in the long run and after a few weeks probably. This is only a first impression and i might love it when  I use it a little bit longer.

  3. I tried yung sample nila as well, kaso it looked thick and too white on my face, probably because I also had BB cream on my face. Might try it out if bare lang yung face ko. But I think so far, I'm already good with the BB cream :P

  6. You might have bought the tone which is not suited for your skin tone. I have my own cc cream smart capsule no. 2 which blends with skin very well and it is less oily and light to wear
