Soap and Glory The Righteous Butter Body Moisturizer

One of the most must-haves during this rainy season in the Philippines is a good hand cream or moisturizer. During the rainy days, it may get cold and windy, thus very drying to the skin. In this post, I am going to talk about Soap and Glory The Righteous Butter Body Moisturizer. Read more below...
I ran out of my favorite Jergen's lotion early this year and it was just the time when Soap and Glory products were a hype online. It was raved by many UK bloggers as its a product there and a few local online stores started to sell them. With all posts and testaments I see online, I just thought I had to try it. The full size squeeze bottle was Php600 and it was just too expensive for me. I found a smaller version of 50ml in multiply.com and costed Php300. I purchased it earlier this summer a month or so before multiply shut down.

The product arrived unsealed and I was surprised to see it about 60-70% full. I don't know if it was 50ml really. On the packaging is says:
The Righteous Butter
Body Moisturizer
Beurre Pour Le Corps
Original Formula
Very Dry Skin Formula
50ml

Consistency is thick and creamy. It's not greasy nor oily at all. Due to it thick consistency, it's kinda hard to spread it all over but is easily absorbed by the skin. The smell is so good I don't know how to describe it. It's sort of a girly princess-y fragrance and it gives a slight cooling sensation to the nose.

I like the fact that it moisturizes the skin but it's got a slightly slightly sticky feel. It makes my hands and arms supple and a little bit silky. Fragrance is great, too but only lasts a few hours. However, in my opinion, Jergens is better over this one. Jergens is not only a very effective moisturizer but also makes and keeps the baby skin like soft. You'll see and feel the softness of the skin and it stays soft as you use it. I didn't find that with Soap and Glory. It's like their body butter only moisturizes once you apply it but I feel like it only stops on the superficial layer. Perhaps due to its thick consistency it does not penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin. I don't know. It's how I feel about it. Maybe, for others it's a good hand cream but I still prefer Jergens over this one. Also, the price is reasonable.

  1. I love the adorable packaging, but there's nothing worse than a sticky-feeling lotion that doesn't absorb well. It's funny how traditional drugstore brands like Jergens can sometimes win out in the end!

  7. Maybe it's a little sticky because it's meant for very dry skin, which needs an extra layer of protection to prevent moisture loss. Maybe this is best used at night. If I had this, I'd use it on my feet before going to bed :)
