It was a cold and rainy afternoon when my husband accompanied me to a makeup gig. I home serviced a law student for their night event at a residential compound along Kisad Road. After my work, the rain was still pouring hard so we thought of having coffee around. We passed by Central Park Restaurant nearby and decided for an early dinner instead. Read more to see how it went.

Central Park is a Chinese restaurant located at  Kisad Road, Carino Street, Baguio City. There was not much people inside when we entered the restaurant. It was around 4pm. The restaurant is a one story building and a single large room for dining. It may get crowded when filled with customers but you won't feel suffocated with the high and spacious ceiling. It is well lighted too with the big and wide windows around plus the lights above.

The smiling waitress gave us their huge multiple paged menu and listed our order. Mine was the Honey Chicken Rice and hubby's was the Braised Beef Rice. Each table already has the condiments like sugar, vinegar, soy sauce and their super hot chilli sauce.

Super hot chilli sauce, goes well with the dimsum

While waiting for the rice meals, we also ordered for some dimsum (unfortunately I forgot to take photos) which was served right away. The waitress pulled in a steaming cart full of dimsum and you get to pick your choice. They've got pork, seafood, etc. Each serving contains 4 pcs and are placed in a round bamboo container. The 4 pieces of dimsum alone can already make you feel full. Since we had it first, I felt like I couldn't finish my main course.

Although the restaurant has hot and cold beverages from their menu, they served free bottomless hot tea. Perfect during the cold and rainy time we were there. You can sip on and chat while waiting for your meals.

Our rice meals didn't take long. Here's my Honey Chicken with dimsum, rice and noodles. The chicken was well roasted and glazed with honey syrup/sauce. It was soft and tender on the inside and the syrup blended well with the barbecued chicken. I wish they added more sauce, though.  The noodles were "umami" and you can really taste the Asian seasoning flavours, as well as with the dimsum which was wrapped with nori. I forgot what the variation was but it was pure ingredients and you can't tell if any flour/extenders were added.

I also tasted hubby's meal. This is not our first time in the restaurant and Braised Beef Rice is his favorite and it's what he always gets. The beef was super soft, tender and juicy. The sweetened thick sauce complimented well with the beef and rice. It was also served with a small bowl of Macaroni Salad for dessert.

For dessert, we had Mango and Banana rolls glazed with choco syrup. It's the local snack "turon" actually but instead of jackfruit, mango was added. It was served hot and the rolls were crispy on the outside with oozing mango and banana on the inside.

We enjoy having meal here every time. Always satisfied with the food, place and service. The prices may be a bit expensive compared to other restaurants but it guarantees satisfaction. Try this restaurant when you head to Baguio.
