Glad to know Baguio City has its own chapter for GBG and the second meet up was held October 22, 2012 at CAP John Hay Trade and Exhibit Hall, Baguio City. Apart from the meetup, a workshop was also held to further the knowledge of the local entrepreneurs and attendees.
Experts were invited and shared their knowledge on:
Blogging For Business
Google Maps for Business
Google Search For Business - Best Practices in the Age of Penguin and Panda
Google Local For Business and
G+ Workshop (facilitated by Hadi, Google's Program Manager for Emerging Markets in South East Asia)
I appreciated the participation of international google experts to give a talk and impart what they know about utilizing Google applications and features to help businesses from small time to big time.
I admire the flow of the event from the start to finish. Registration started at 8am and the meeting started around 9am. Below is the registration table for the attendants. Stickers and flyers were given to each who registered.
Below is our table set up.
A bonus from the workshop. Lawyer Councilor Edison Bilog of Baguio City was invited to give a talk about the controversial Cybercrime Law.
After the morning session, we had our sumptuous and satisfying lunch sponsored by Le Chef Restaurant at The Manor.
With fellow Cordillera Bloggers Dean Cuanso of watwatworld.com, Ash Velasco of istanatko.wordpress.com and sir Carl Taawan, Sunstar Baguio photojournalist.
A group shot of The Forest Lodge management, one of the sponsors of the event, and the Google experts on who imparted their knowledge during the meeting.
My thoughts on the event
I am honored and thankful to have been invited to this event. Sir Vince Tabor of lakbaybaguio.com and the organizer, sent me an invitation. It was all worth it to take a leave from work for a day just so to attend this meeting. I have learned so much how Google can help grow and expand our businesses. Internet is almost free and it is a great advantage for us entrepreneurs to utilize to help our develop our businesses. Not only that, this event was also a good opportunity to meet and socialize with other people.
A third meet up was held on December 1 at Azalea Residences, Baguio. However, I had a hectic schedule that time and missed it. You can read my friend Recis' post about that here: http://recisdempayos.wordpress.com/2012/12/04/third-gbg-baguio-meet-up-at-azalea-residences/
I will be looking forward to more events like this in the future.
