I'm Thirsty, I Need a SIP
Tea drinks have become common and famous with varying recipes, flavors and mixes. That may be hot or cold but the iced one is the craze nowadays. SIP, awesomest drinks on earth, invited the Cordillera Bloggers for a taste testing event right in their store. Read more to know about their thirst-SIPtifying tea drinks and mixes.
SIP is located at the 4rth Floor of SM Baguio facing Cinema 4.
They've got a few table sets and chairs so you can sit and enjoy your tea while chatting with friends or while waiting for you movie to start.
Right on their counter you can see their mini kitchen where they prepare your delightful tea drinks. You'll surely see how they're made and you won't doubt about hygiene.
Now on with the taste testing activity, here are our first set of shot glasses. Mango Triple Jelly, Raspberry Yakult and Lychee. Lychee is a black tea based drink. Oh geeze, I can't remember how it tasted while I'm writing this but it's one of my favorite. It's the usual tea flavor like "gipas" but it's more concentrated and distinct and you can really taste the tea flavor. On the bottom are black chewy pearls. Raspberry yakult has a milky berry flavor. It's good too and surely your kids would love it. The Mango Triple Jelly as the name suggests is fruity. It's got fruit bits, too.
Second set: White Chocolate Raspberry with Pearls, Green Tea Mix with Strawberry Poppers and Wintermelon with Green Apple Nata. White Chocolate Raspberry is one of their best sellers and yes, it's one of my fave, too among all. It's a sweet milky tea and oh, it's got the black pearls, too. (gah, I suck at describing tastes.) Basta, it's good! The Green Tea Milk with Strawberry Poppers comes with a surprise. When you sip your drink and the poppers follow and you chew it, it pops inside your mouth and gives you a slight shock. Inside each poppers is a sweet strawberry syrup. The Wintermelon with Green Apple Nata is also good. (don't how to describe it, I wish noted how they tasted while we were tasting them) It's still good, they're all good actually. It's got green apple nata jellies under.
Handmade taro and Mango Chapp are two awesome drinks as well. The Handmade taro would also go into my favorites. It's made of real taro blended and mixed with the creamy milk tea. It's already like a semi-fruit smoothie. You can actually taste the tiny bits of the taro and I love it. It's one good natural and healthy drink. The Mango Chapp is also a bomb. It's got two layers as you can see in the photo. On the bottom is the Mango milk tea and on top is a smooth and creamy froth. The froth to me, resembles a melted vanilla ice cream. yummy!
SIP also got Fresh Soda Mixes. If you're into carbonated drinks, they also got choice for you. Below is the Strawberry Flavored Soda. It's a good drink if you want an instant refreshment during a hot weather. It's just like the other carbonated commercial drinks but SIP's offers them in various fruit flavors.
Lastly on the set of drinks is another best selling flavor, the Strawberry Mesteazo. This drink is unique it's got 3 layers. It's a mix of black and green tea. On the bottom is Strawberry flavored black tea; middle part is green milk tea and on top is a creamy froth.
Of course, SIP is not only about drinks but they've got something to fill your tummy, too. They have a so called Honeycomb Waffle. It's a waffle in a honeycomb shape. We thought there's must be something special about it because of it's name. Since it comes in a honeycomb shape, we thought honey syrup are inside each round partitions but it's not. Although, it will be good if they do it.
I enjoyed this taste testing event and it's my first. Thanks for the invite from Xine of findgoodbaguiofoods.com. (check out her post HERE)
I personally am a fan of healthy drinks and I prefer tea over soda. It's a good thing people are becoming conscious of their health and food establishments like SIP are popping everywhere. SIP disclosed to us that their ingredients are raw materials and they don't use powder mixes like other brands do. The handmade taro drink testifies to this. Their syrup flavors are also produced locally here in the Philippines.
My favorite among the drinks we tasted are Lychee Flavored Black tea, Raspberry Yakult, Handmade taro (I can never forget this and I'm going back for this) and White Chocolate Raspberry with Pearls. Their servings are available in medium and large sizes. The large size cups are actually LARGE I cannot finish it alone. I think 2 people can share one large size cup.
