The Forest Lodge at Camp John Hay Experience: Our Arrival
Welcome to The Forest Lodge at Camp John Hay!
As a member of Cordillera Bloggers, I was privileged to join the group to review Baguio's newest and superb lodge and hotel. We arrived at the site past 3pm of the 10th of October, 2012. We had a quick tour of the place before we headed out for a food and restaurant review, which I will be blogging about after this.
This is going to be a 3 part hotel review because of loads and loads of photos I want to share with you. In what other ways can I show you the sights and experiences without photos? Ha ha! I am going to start off with our arrival at the lodge. The above photo is the front view of the huge and very countryside-ish lodge and hotel. Below shows the vast entrance. Just look at the log designed ceiling, very warm and country.
On the driveway is a landscape with a splashing fountain. A beautiful sight to see.
Upon entrance, the wide and cozy lobby will greet and invite you to sit and rest those tired bodies from a trip.
And another angle of the lobby. How lovely isn't it? You would surely enjoy to hang out and spend your time while sipping your hot coffee here. And oh, it's got wifi free of password. How perfect!
While sitting on the couch, vintage chandeliers would be hanging above you. Just notice all the wooden beams and designs. It is so home country.
On the right side upon entrance would be the front desk. Courteous and smiling staffs would greet and warmly assist you with what you need.
After checking in and visiting our rooms, we went around the place, took lots of photos while a staff toured us around. Here are more photos of the lodge.
This is "The Twist" restaurant where we had our very satisfying breakfast the next day. I will be talking about it in my next post so stay tuned.
On one corner of the lobby is this secluded room which they call "The Cigar Room". It can contain a maximum of 10 people. A meeting or conference for a small group may be held here.
Beside the Cigar Room is another spacious corner with tables. This is going to be the lodge's disco which they will be launching soon. And yep, we will surely be invited again (I hope).
Narda's Crafts and Souvenirs is also there. Narda's is a Cordilleran brand who makes native inspired designs of bags, scarves gowns and others.
Opposite the reception is this display of artistic pieces by Baguio artists with whooping prices of Php65,000 to half a million. So be cautious when touching it you might drop them.
A sneak peak of the the lobby restroom. It is so spotless clean!
Past the reception is the hallway towards the rooms and lift. Before the hallway is an art gallery with lots of beautiful frames.

Our arrival and check in made me more exciting for the night and the next day. I am honored and happy to have been invited to make a review of Baguio's newest tourist dwelling house. Arrival to the site and quick tour was impressive. The valets are there to help you with your luggage and arrival. The staffs are courteous and warm. The place alone is excellent and again, superb. Anyone would love to stay in a place like these. Though there's this saying "There's no place like home" but in the Forest Lodge, you will feel at home.
The lobby alone is a comfortable place to be in. It is a perfect place to sit, chill, wait or just spend the time reading a paper, sipping your coffee or internet browsing. The couch, chairs and table placements are just right you would love to spend your morning. The clear glass wall also allows the warm sunshine to get through, too. The log and wood designs around create a very homey and countryside-ish feel. I so love the warm ambiance of the place. I really enjoyed our stay here and I highly recommend The Forest Lodge.

Great post Stella. Very enticing specially to anyone who haven't been there yet. The photos and vivid description make your readers feel as if they were there touring with you. And you are right about the staff, very friendly and courteous - always wore a smile. It was indeed a pleasant stay.
