How to Reveal Youthful and Glowing Skin: Basic Facial Scrub Recipe
Facial exfoliation or facial scrubbing removes dead skin cells and reveals young and new cells underneath. This is one cheap or even free way to expose youthful and glowing skin. Read on below to know more about this step that can be incorporated in your basic skin care routine.
I have previously talked about a 3 step basic skin care routine here. Additional to that, here's another step you can squeeze in the routine, exfoliation. Exfoliation or facial scrubbing is the removal of old or dead skin cells from the surface. This helps the young and new cells underneath show up to reveal young and glowing skin. This process is done ever since from long ago and performed in facials and spas during dermabrasion. However, you do not have to visit a spa or dermatologist to perform this to you. You can do facial scrubbing at home at a cheap or no cost at all. Although you can purchase facial scrub products from the market, you can make your own at home.
Here's a simple recipe you can do at home and find the ingredients in your own kitchen. Everything is organic and no harmful chemicals needed.
All you need are honey and brown sugar. Honey has many benefits for the skin. As we all know, it is a natural sugar. It has moisturizing properties which can help people with dry skin and retain elasticity with oily skin. The sugar crystal will serve as the scrubs that will kick and buff away the dead skin cells. Honey and brown sugar are only basic ingredients you can mix together to make a DIY face scrub. You can also add essential oils like olive oil for a more nutritious mixture. Or you can replace the brown sugar with dry oats and squeeze some lemon juice to treat acne prone skin. You can look up for other numerous recipes online.
Just mix the honey and brown sugar together until you get a gritty mixture. Adjust the amount of honey and sugar so you can get a not so loose and not so sticky texture. Too much sugar can be too hard and sticky to apply on the skin. Too much honey can make the formula watery and won't serve the purpose to scrub the skin.
And now you've got a DIY facial scrub formula and your ready to exfoliate those dead skin cells away. You can also make more and store in a sealed plastic container so you'll have a month supply. Just keep it in the fridge and bring it out whenever it's time to exfoliate and you don't have to mix every time.
Exfoliation is done 2-3 times a week or whenever you feel like you need to. Doing it everyday would be too harsh on the skin and might cause irritation. Do facial scrubbing after cleansing your face. Then you can apply facial masks or tone then moisturize. I will discuss about facial mask is the next posts.
Give this a try and I hope it helps. I do this personally and works fine.
