The main ingredients for this natural beauty recipe: oatmeal, brown sugar and honey.
Oatmeal is not only food for the tummy but for the skin as well. It's got many benefits for the skin. First, it's a gentle exfoliant that buffs away dirt and dead skin cells to generate new and fresh new ones. Second, it moisturizes dry skin by retaining moisture. Third, it's rich in amino acids that'll help clear out and repair blemished and damaged skin. Fourth, it's hypo allergenic and suits any skin types.
Honey is a natural food and medicine. It is the most used and basic ingredient for many organic and natural beauty recipes. Similar with oatmeal, it's a humectant or agent that maintains skin hydration by locking moisture in. Because it's a natural product, it is very rich in antioxidants. Current research also claims that it can serve as a natural sunscreen.
Brown sugar in this recipe will serve as an exfoliant that'll help remove dirt and impurities from the skin.
1. Blend a cup of oatmeal.
2. Add 1-2 tablespoons of brown sugar and mix.
4. Squeeze or pour down the honey then mix until you get something like in the photo below. Not too dry but just enough for a liquid-y mixture.
5. Store it in a sealed jar and keep it in the fridge. This would probably last you up to 1-2 months or more.
Every after you exfoliate, apply this face mask right on. Gently massage for a few seconds, then leave on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse. You'll immediately see a difference after. You'll notice that your skin has become smoother, clearer and fresh.
The oatmeal mask I made in this post is almost finished and I used it up for more than a month. Every other day after I do facial scrubbing, I massage this then leave on for 20 minutes or more.
